Do the Demons Know Your Name?

“And the evil spirit answered them and said to them,
‘I recognize Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?'”

Acts 19:15

Here’s an interesting question to think about.  When the demons get together to talk about their strategy, do they ever talk about you?  Because of the way you are living your life for God’s glory and praying Kingdom-strategic prayers, are you making any waves in hell?  I don’t believe every believer is considered a formidable threat to Satan’s overall strategy.  I don’t think Satan bothers every believer because he has most of them right where he wants them–complacent.  Are you a threat to him?  Paul was.  One day, a group of men came across a demon-possessed man and they tried to evoke the name of Jesus in trying to cast out the demon.  The demonized man had none of it.  We have the evil spirit’s reply above.  Then the demoniac man jumped the seven men and beat the tar out of them!  Before you start willy-nilly throwing His name around, remember that Jesus does not allow His name to be “used.”

Do the demons know who you are?  Do they know your reputation in hell as a true follower of Jesus Christ?  Do they know you are a prayer warrior?  Do they know you are an extender of the Gospel?  Strike a blow to the devil’s schemes today!  Don’t just rejoice that your name is known in heaven.  Pray and live in such a way that it is also known in hell!
